Idea House 3 is a contemporary design store at the Walker Art Center that celebrates iconic design, sustainable practices, and timeless objects. From furniture to books, our design department meticulously handpicks each piece, ensuring a unique curation of convivial objects.

Rotating collections are brought to life in a modular, exhibition-style presentation reminiscent of the rooms in a home, inviting you to interact with design objects and to imagine how they might enhance your own spaces. Designed by London-based Zak Group, this is more than a store: it is a vibrant hub that connects communities, hosts cultural programs, and fosters educational experiences with designers worldwide.

Idea House 3 is rooted in the rich history of the Walker’s Idea Houses I (1941) and II (1947), which were pioneering showcases of the latest in postwar domestic architectural, product, and interior design. Building on this legacy, Idea House 3 continues to champion today’s creative visionaries through unique design pieces that reflect new ways of living, working, and playing.
